Seamless AV Integration for Emergency Services Training

Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service wanted a world class training centre to set new standards in emergency response. Their old system, just one room with outdated CCTV and poor audio, couldn’t deliver realistic, high pressure training or support collaboration between agencies. With a £50 million Learning & Development College planned, the NIFRS needed more than an upgrade, they required a purpose-built AV system that was reliable, easy to use, and capable of simulating real world incident command scenarios.

The Solution

Fluid AV designed and installed a fully integrated AV system across eight simulation, assessment, and training rooms. A central control system links every space, allowing trainers to run scenarios, communicate, and record sessions effortlessly. The system supports everything from single assessments to complex, multi-agency training exercises. Designed around the training workflow, it ensures trainers focus on instruction rather than technology, with intuitive controls and flexible room configurations enabling realistic, high-quality simulations for every training need.

The Impact

The new system has transformed training for NIFRS. Two simulations can now run at once, doubling assessment capacity and saving trainers valuable time. Assessors can observe, record, and review performances more effectively, delivering clearer feedback and consistent training standards. Multi-agency exercises run smoothly with better communication and collaboration tools built in. As a result, the facility is now recognised as one of the most advanced emergency training centres in the UK.
