The Brief

Invest NI is Northern Ireland's regional economic development agency, responsible for supporting local businesses to start, grow and compete internationally. Its Belfast headquarters relies on a wide range of meeting and training spaces, from large multi purpose training suites to a circular boardroom, and the existing AV equipment across these rooms was ageing, inconsistent between rooms and no longer covered by manufacturer warranty.

Invest NI wanted every room brought onto a single, consistent platform built around Microsoft Teams, so that staff would have the same experience wherever they were meeting and would not need IT support to run a call or a presentation. The specification covered nine distinct room types across the building, ranging from a fifty person training room and a large conference suite that needed to divide into three separate spaces, to a circular boardroom seating twenty six delegates around a round table. The boardroom presented a particular challenge, since a conventional front mounted camera would leave much of the room facing away from the lens, and the building's raised access flooring ruled out a standard induction loop for assisted listening.

The Solution

Fluid AV replaced the equipment across every room with a Microsoft Teams Room platform, so that every space, from the smallest meeting room to the largest training suite, is booked, joined and used in exactly the same way. The two training rooms, IT01 and IT02, each combine a large NEC display, ninety eight inches and seventy five inches respectively, with dual PTZ cameras, one covering the tutor or presenter at the front and one covering the wider room, along with a wireless lapel microphone and a beamforming ceiling microphone so both formal training and hybrid meetings can run from the same room.

The remaining six meeting room specifications, covering twelve individual rooms across the building and ranging from six to twelve seats, were fitted with NEC displays from fifty five to seventy five inches paired with Yealink Teams Room cameras and soundbars. Every one of these rooms has the same one touch meeting join, wireless presentation and automatic room booking panel with an occupancy sensor outside the door, so staff never have to relearn the system from room to room.

The largest space, the Conference Suite, can be used as a single hundred person room or divided by partition into three independent rooms. Sensors on each partition detect which configuration is in use and automatically combine or separate the displays and audio zones, and staff select tutor, presenter and audience, or meeting mode from a wall mounted touch panel to change how the cameras and microphones behave for that session, all without calling for AV support.

The boardroom required the most bespoke engineering. Because delegates sit facing inward around a circular table, a standard front facing camera would have left several people looking away from the lens for the whole call. Fluid AV designed a custom bracket at the centre of the table holding three fifty five inch displays angled in three directions, so every delegate has a clear sightline regardless of where they are seated, matched to a front facing eighty six inch display and three PTZ cameras positioned around the room with speaker tracking so the camera follows whoever is talking. A Bosch delegate system with twenty six individual microphones and speakers gives every seat its own controlled input, and an infrared assisted listening system was fitted in place of a conventional induction loop, since the room's metal rich raised access floor would have interfered with loop performance.

The Impact

Invest NI's Belfast headquarters completed its Phase 1 rollout in April 2023, giving every meeting space in the building the same familiar Microsoft Teams experience. Staff can walk into any room, from a small huddle space to the boardroom, join a call with a single button press, connect wirelessly without hunting for a cable, and trust that the room will show as available again automatically if a booking goes unused.

The custom designed boardroom solution solved a problem a standard installation could not, giving every delegate around the table equal visibility of both the call and each other, while the flexible Conference Suite lets Invest NI run anything from a private meeting to a hundred person event without reconfiguring a single piece of equipment. An ongoing service level agreement keeps the whole estate supported.

The strength of the Belfast rollout has since led Invest NI to extend the same Microsoft Teams Room platform into further rooms at its Belfast headquarters and to its regional offices in Omagh, Derry and Newry, giving staff and visitors the same consistent, familiar experience wherever in Northern Ireland they are meeting.

The Brief

AMS, one of the world’s leading Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO) companies, required a modern, reliable AV environment for its Belfast office in the Ewart Building. The space supports a wide range of internal and external communications, from daily meetings to larger town hall-style sessions connecting teams across the UK, Ireland and global offices.

AMS worked with project contractor FKM and engaged Fluid AV to deliver consistent, easy-to-use AV solutions across the building that would support collaboration at every level.

 

The Solution

Fluid AV designed and delivered AV solutions across 11 areas, including meeting rooms, collaboration spaces and a central town hall space. The project included a mix of video conferencing, presentation and digital signage solutions, tailored to suit rooms of various sizes and functions. Particular focus was placed on the town hall area, ensuring it could reliably support large group meetings and seamless communication with AMS offices in other locations. All systems were designed to be intuitive and dependable, enabling staff to connect and collaborate with ease.

The completed AV installation supports clear, consistent communication across AMS’s Belfast headquarters and wider network. Teams can now collaborate more effectively both internally and with colleagues across the UK, Ireland and internationally. 

 

 

The Brief

 The Irish Football Association wanted to enhance their existing boardroom at Windsor Park Stadium, expanding its use for video-conferencing with external customers and staff while improving internal meeting capabilities. The space is used by a wide range of users, so the system needed to be simple, reliable, and easy to control, ideally from a single-seated location. Key requirements included full audio and visual coverage for all seating positions, multiple branded displays in the centre of the room, easy content sharing, Microsoft Teams compatibility, and integration with existing IT policies. Room constraints included fixed seating, a concrete floor, significant glass surfaces with potential to impact video performance, and a layout that prevented the use of a single front-facing camera

 

The Solution

 A Yealink Microsoft Teams Room system formed the core of the installation, ensuring seamless platform integration. Dual wide-angle QSC cameras were strategically positioned to capture all participants, supported by a Sennheiser ceiling microphone array and QSC DSP for room-wide audio pickup and intelligent speaker tracking. Additional in-ceiling speakers enhanced sound quality without impacting aesthetics. An 86” anti-reflective NEC front display reduced window glare, while four NEC displays arranged in a North–South–East–West configuration ensured clear visibility for all users and achieved the desired branded centrepiece. New underfloor cabling connected the system discreetly, and a CEO-positioned touch panel enabled one-touch meeting control. Wireless sharing solutions allowed flexible content sharing from any seat.

 

The Impact

 The upgraded boardroom has significantly improved communication for both internal teams and external users. Staff report increased confidence in using the space, noting easier meeting setup, clearer audio and video quality, and a more professional environment for hosting external stakeholders. The multiple displays and full-coverage camera and microphone solution ensure that every participant is clearly seen and heard, removing previous limitations caused by the room’s layout. The addition of intuitive controls and wireless sharing has streamlined collaboration, reducing setup delays and enhancing the overall meeting experience. The room is now heavily utilised across a variety of organisational functions.

 

 

The Brief

The Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NI Chamber) relocated to new offices on Linenhall Street in Belfast and required a modern AV and communications solution to support its busy organisation. With a membership of over 1,200 businesses representing more than 100,000 employees, NI Chamber hosts numerous events and meetings each week for its members.

The organisation wanted technology that would improve internal communication, make meetings easier to manage and reduce unnecessary travel between locations. It was also important that staff and visitors could easily see upcoming Chamber events and announcements throughout the office. NI Chamber commissioned Fluid AV to design and install a connected, easy-to-use AV solution that would support both day-to-day operations and member engagement.

The Solution

Fluid AV worked closely with NI Chamber’s fit-out contractor to ensure the technology integrated seamlessly into the new office environment, creating a modern and connected workspace.

In the main meeting room, an 86-inch display was installed alongside a wireless presentation system with integrated room booking. The system connects directly to Microsoft Office 365, allowing staff to easily schedule and manage meetings while presenting content wirelessly from their own devices.

In the reception area, Fluid AV installed a digital signage display that showcases upcoming events, key announcements and member news. This provides a dynamic and professional welcome for visitors while ensuring important information is visible throughout the day.

Additional screens and connectivity solutions were installed within private offices, ensuring team members could easily collaborate, share information and connect with colleagues and members when required.

The Impact

The new AV and digital display systems have created a more connected and efficient workplace for NI Chamber. Staff can now schedule meetings quickly, present content wirelessly and collaborate more effectively without the need for unnecessary travel.

Digital signage in the reception area keeps both staff and visitors informed about upcoming events, helping to promote Chamber activities and ensure the team stays aligned with the organisation’s busy weekly schedule.
